A New You

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Although I started this blog to remind you of God’s Unconditional Love, this doesn’t mean that I don’t spend time reading other inspirational blogs/websites. One of my favorites is Girlfriends in God, which I make a point to visit on a daily basis. While the message doesn’t always speak to me the way that today’s message  did.

I, along with many, haven’t had a perfect past. Fortunately, thanks to the love and grace of God I – and YOU – are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. What do I also LOVE about HIS perfect grace and love? It means that nothing can stop us from receiving HIS perfect love!

As it says in Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

What does this mean going forward? It means that he will always love us UNCONDITIONALLY as long as we come to him and trust him in this love. Do I have proof of this love? Very recent proof actually. Though I am trying to become a more forgiving person, this is definitely a work in progress. Case in point, I am witnessing a dear friend of mine go through a pretty, brutal and messy divorce. One where she is being hurt regularly by the man that she gave her heart to many years ago. Because I care about this friend, I have been admittedly angry at this man and have even encouraged this friend to have no contact with him.

As I seek my heart and the Holy Spirit living within me, I know that I am in the wrong (hello fleshly self). So, I am trusting God to lead me towards forgiveness for this man and to pray that he can be healed from what is leading him to hurt my friend. As long as we stay in our flesh, we will continue to make mistakes and sin. Fortunately, God knows about each of these sins and he loves us regardless. Remember, Jesus died for each and every one of our sins pas, present and future.

So, let’s TRUST HIM and try to become the best IN CHRIST people that we can be.

He is Especially Fond of Us

I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved  them as You have loved Me. (John 17:23)

I know that I often share with each of you the experiences that my family and I have, especially during our weekend bible study. Fortunately, this is often where HE provides me with the most inspiration. This weekend wasn’t any exception as my family and I saw an incredibly inspiring film called The Shack

Based on the best selling novel by Canadian author William P. Young, this Christian novel turned movie tells the story of a family man who endures a difficult childhood as well an unspeakable tragedy all which make him question his faith in “Papa”. Despite his becoming angry at his creator, God actually pursues the character and leads him back to HIS Unconditional Love as well as to his faith in the miracles that “Papa” can provide.

I loved this because it both speaks to the message that I am trying to share with each of you, while also reminding me that even though we are sinners (including those who question our Papa’s ways) he still loves us. In fact, he loves us so much that he gave His *One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

If he loves us this much, why would he ever stop loving us? Just come to HIM and remember that he will always love you.
