Even those who feel small can accomplish the amazing through His Loving strength.
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. (Psalm 84:5)
I just love the Bible story of David vs. Goliath (1 Samuel 17), which proves that even those who feel small and weak can take down evil giants thanks to a strong faith in the one who loves us most. After a trying and a rather sad week last week, I was so happy to be reminded of this story during our family Bible study last Sunday.
The fact is, I am always trying to take on whatever the world throws my way. When I try to do so on my own, I am always left exhausted, stressed and worrying how I am going to tackle what comes next? The funny thing is when I call out to God and my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ things just start falling into place and the great accuser (no matter what form he chooses to show himself in – whether as a giant standing in the way of glory or in some mess that takes my very limited time to clean up – seems to fall away.
So, if you are feeling weak and unable to tackle the giant Goliaths in your life call out to the one who loves you for who you are and is ready to give you HIS STRENGTH to tackle any giant that stands in your way.
Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord. You should no longer walk as the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their thoughts. They are darkened in their understanding and excluded from the life of God. (Ephesians 4:17)
I just love weekly Bible study with my family. Every week, I seem to learn the perfect lesson. The same can be said for this past Sunday. I often speak out loud my worries, frustrations, and concerns vs. speaking at them with the positive message that God provides.
This week, we talked about being born again and not letting our negative minds, which are often controlled by the devil, control the way that we speak. While most of the week that is exactly what I was doing I decided to give this a try again all day Sunday.
Within a matter of a few hours I saw my perspective changing and even saw situations changing for the better. So, let’s ask God to be with our mouths today and every day and speak our Faith in HIM, who loves us no matter our flaws, into existence.
- If you are in need of healing speaking healing words over whatever ails you.
- If you are in need of financial relief. Speak about how God has and always will supply all your need.
- If you are overwhelmed in grief. Speak about how you always have a loving Father who is there for you no matter what. A Father who gave his only begotten Son to bring us into his eternal family. A family what will be reunited in the heavenlies.
- Etc., Etc.
And….If you need a shoulder to lean on, ask God to give you the words to speak a more positive outcome over your life and your circumstances. What are you waiting for? A better life is out there thanks to the Unconditional Love of God and our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ!!
As the last few days have unfolded, I have wondered if I have spent too much time working and wondering if it was possible to find my way back to my walk with God? I have also wondered if I am on the path that of HIS choosing? After all, not as I will but as you will (Matthew 26:39).
Just as I began praying for his loving guidance, he took me in HIS Unconditionally Loving arms to embrace and assure me that he has and always will guide each of my steps in the direction towards his plan. While I continue to make mistakes and sin along this path, he is always there to catch me when I fall. Even when my Trust waivers, his love is always there.
Isn’t that AMAZING? Even when bad things happen. He is always there. Do you need an example of just how much he loves us even during the storms of life? An accident at a local drug store, which took an elderly woman’s life yesterday, took me back to my Bible asking why things like this are allowed to happen? The fact is, the devil is still a part of this world and will always do everything that he can to turn us away from HIS Love.
One such story is that of Job, who loved and praised God even when the devil tried to turn his head to the left and right after cursing him in every way possible. So, if you are needing a closer walk with the one who loves you more than anyone else say a prayer and ask him to take a closer walk with you today.
“Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me. But he said to me…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. So, I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions and in pressures; because of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 12: 7-10)
Due to the judgmental world, we all have become masters at hiding our weaknesses from our friends and families in order to avoid being judged by others for not being what they may have expected. The funny thing is when we confess our weaknesses to the Father who truly loves us and even to others, then HIS LOVE gives us HIS AMAZING STRENGTH to do anything. So, no matter what you are facing, remember that his STRENGTH is sufficient enough to get you through anything.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
We have been blessed with a kind of undying love that never, ever gives up! This lost sheep is so grateful for that. I know that it has been a while since my last post, but along with being busy I have also been feeling a little lost and wondering if I am the person that God wants to use to share his loving messages?
This morning, I was reminded of how much he loves me and wants to use me to spread HIS LOVE to others. So, I am back to remind each of you to love one another because this love changes everything!
We all spend a lot of time trash talking others for their faults and I am as guilty of this as anybody. What I have begun to notice lately though is that things are so much more peaceful and the whole world seems to be a happier place when we show our love towards one another. So, today I encourage you to show your love to another in need. Like the Beatles said…”All You Need is Love”.
TRUST HIM TO HEAL…..
I am a big fan of Christian Activist Christine Caine, who has been a big inspiration for this blog as well. One such story that she tends to share to inspire others is one of healing. A few years ago, Christine was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on her trachea. Since her calling from God is to use her powerful voice to spread HIS message to others this could have been very frightening, but she used her faith to keep her strong. Through this faith in HIS love, she was both healed and able to keep her voice to continue HIS good work!
This was obviously HIS love showing up as this was the story that I remembered when I suffered a pretty massive cat bite last week. This deep bite was suffered on my right (writing) hand. Although I was hesitant to receive medical treatment, instead trusting God to heal me, I took the advice of my boss and went to a local urgent care center that put me on a round of antibiotics.
I am not a real fan of taking medication and have had a bad reaction to these type of meds in the past. Knowing that I was being pushed by the one that loves me more than others, I took the meds and prayed continuously to the ultimate healer. The most miraculous part was that I was not only healed to full function of the hand that HE has given me to spread his message, but this happened in two days! In fact, I was able to stop the antibiotics early. Although I experienced some mild complications from this medication, I was also healed from this in one day.
So, no matter what you are in need of healing from remember that the HE LOVES YOU enough to heal you. Whether mental, physical or spiritual he is always there.
For it is By Grace….
While God made me in his image, I am still in this World, which means that I am still weak and will make mistakes. In fact, we will all make mistakes. One of my biggest fears throughout my life is that of disappointing others, including the GREAT I AM.
Today, I felt such a surge of relief when He once again reassured me that it is BY GRACE that I am saved and not by my PERFECT WORKS. So, when you start to doubt that HE loves you because you have made a step out of what you consider his line of forgiveness, remember that it is by GRACE that you have been saved and given his PERFECT LOVE and not because you have made all the right decisions in life.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23)
If you live in this world, you are well aware of just how judge mental we can all be. In fact, it seems like all we each do every day is try to hide our imperfections from everyone else. We even push ourselves to extensive limits so that we can either impress or not disappoint others.
While I grew up in a Christian household, I was born with a severe fear of “not being good enough”. Every time that I attempt to break up with this deep-rooted sense of fear something comes back to knock me down. I even had a dream recently that pointed out this deep seeded root to me.
While this was scary, I realized that God was trying to show me just how my imperfections allow for his perfect love and strength. As I have continued to dive into the word praying and wishing for this root of imperfection to be removed from me. Today, I opened my bible to find a scripture that opened my eyes.
Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me. But HE said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for power is PERFECTED in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:8-9)
So, instead of trying to prove that we are in some way perfect to the rest of the world that really doesn’t care about us anyway, let’s do what this scripture also says…
“Gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me (or us).” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
For we are the light of this world through HIS LOVE and we all can become perfected and help others who need to find HIS LIGHT through us. Embrace yourself today as the Child of God that you are – imperfections and all!!
Although one might not expect God to love those who rebel against society, I was excited to receive his message yesterday. While enjoying a family trip to peaceful Grayson County, VA I first noticed his message while witnessing a tree growing out of a rock.
Who has ever expected a mighty oak tree to grow and stand tall in a rock vs. from the ground? This was just the first look at his message. As I prayed for God to give direction to HIS beloved, this morning he once again reminded me of the story in Ezra (Chapters 4-5) about the rebellious builders of Judah who set out to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. Though everyone, including Chancellor Rehum, ordered that the build of this temple be ceased, rebellions like Judah and Benjamin continued to keep the dream alive by rebelling against society.
Despite the temple not being built until the rise of Zerubbabel, HIS rebellious team believed in their calling and did what it took to fulfill HIS plan despite what society thought or did to them.
For many years, I have tried so hard to “fit in”, but I am ready to stand out and be one of “HIS rebellious”. Are you with me?
For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have Compassion on His afflicted ones. (Isaiah 49:13)
Although many of us are blessed to be called children of God, this does not mean that we are exempt from hurt or pain. This week has definitely proven this to me as I have seen so many people enduring a tremendous amount of pain. Although there is and will continue to be pain in this world, what has brought my focus back from the sadness that I have seen happening all around me in the last few days is HIS Love.
Yesterday, I once again came to Papa asking him to comfort my heart as it ached for others that I have witnessed enduring unspeakable tragedies over the last few days. As I opened my Bible He, once again, was able to provide the words that I needed to here that brought peace to my breaking heart.
While many, including myself, often feel alone and abandoned when tragedies strike, He once again reminded me that both God as well as our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ are always with us.
Zion says: The Lord has abandoned me; The Lord has forgotten me! Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you. Look, I have inscribed on the palms of My hands. (Isaiah 49:14-16)
So, anytime you feel darkness moving in, like a child does with his/her mother or father, let Him wrap you in his arms of comfort and remind you that he will “never leave nor forsake you.”
My prayers are for all those who read this and are in need of HIS loving comfort and peace. Feel free to comment so that a prayer circle can be started for you and your loved ones.
